Wonderful Vacation
Let me start by saying that when were were planning our anniversary/birthday trip, we read tons of reviews and did a lot of research before we decided on the Majestic Elegance Punta Cana. I must say, i think we made the best decision! As soon as we went through customs in Punta Cana, we were taken to the counter immediately to get our airport transfer. This was so easy thanks to cheapcaribbean, and it is worth it to book the transfer ahead of time. It took about 40 minutes to get to the resort b/c we had to drop others who had booked through cheapcaribbean to other resorts. Once we arrived, we were greeted with a cold towel and a welcome cocktail, The Majestic (we would be drinking this all week! it was delicious!) Since we upgraded to the Elegance Club, our Butler, Junior, gave us a tour of the resort and brought us to one of the elegance club Lounges where we were quickly checked in. Luckily our room was ready when we got there. The room was just as in the pictures. It was beautiful and clean. We had champagne and a fruit platter waiting for us. There is a mini bar which was stocked daily with our favorite things. It's important to note that the bathroom and shower are not very private so hopefully you will be comfortable with each other. Also, there are no wash cloths. We had read reviews prior and brought our own which came in handy. The only thing that took long was getting our bags into our room. Also keep in mind you have to wear a bracelet all week long. The elegance club ones were cute! We also had a jacuzzi tub in the room and our butler made a bubble bath for us one night. The food at the resort was wonderful. We ate at all the restaurants. Our favorite was Asadito, the Steak house. You didnt need reservations and it was casual dress. We also loved the hibatchi. If you want to eat there you need to get up and make a reservation by 7am as this is the most popular. Our least favorite was the French restaurant Limited Gourmand, though other guests we met enjoyed it, maybe it was just our food selection. Men need to wear long pants and closed toe shoes for the French and Italian restaurants. Everyday we laid on the beach, and it was no trouble getting a palapa to sit under because it is HOT and HUMID! The water and sand were beautiful and every morning there was crew out making sure the beach looked pristine. Bring lots of sunscreen and hats. It is expensive there and we went through about 2 bottles. The pools were great too. In the Elegance Club there are three pools and two bars. We laid by the pool once, but we are more beach people. There are waiters that will come around and take your drink order so you dont even have to get up! Bring insulated mugs for your drinks as they will last longer. We never went to the Coco club at night but the bars were open and there was always something going on. We saw two shows, a Cirque de Soleil type of show and Michael Jackson show. They were both wondeful. We also listened in on Karakoe night, and there was a movie under the stars. The elegance club also has two rooftop bars and several night time events. The weather was beautiful the whole time we were there. It rained one day for about 30 minutes in the afternoon. The service was spectuacular. They gave my husband a birthday cake and us an anniverary dessert right to our room. We saw our butler Junior alot and everyone one else who helped us was wonderful. Overall we had an excellent time and would recommend this resort to anyone!

Crazy Good Value!
The moment we stepped into the airy lobby we were greeted by our butler who gave us a tour of the facilities and our suite. He showed us the seven dining options, the many bars, the pools, and the white sandy beach. By day my wife would relax in one of the Bali beds at the poolside catered by drink hostesses while I played golf at the challenging Punta Blanco Golf Course across the street. Each night we ate at one of the delicious steakhouse, Japanese, French, Italian or buffet cuisines, drank designer tropical drinks or beer at one of the many bars, gambled a little at the casino, and took in the nightly show. Our suite was well-apointed with a king bed, jacuzzi, spa shower, fridge, and plenty of liquor. The grounds were tropical, well-groomed, and eye-pleasing. The pools were crystal clear and clean. The most impressive part of the week was the smiles and attitudes of every employee we encountered. Customer service is their hallmark. This place was everything I was promised and more than I imagined. I have been to the Caribbean several times, Europe, the Mediterranean, the Far East, and all across the U.S. I will go back to the Majestic Elegance in Punta Cana again.

Best Vacation Spot Ever! Especially Honeymoons!
This resort is amazing! The rooms are clean and spacious! The room amenities are excellent and provide you with all of the comforts of a luxurious hotel!
The staff are friendly and enthusiastic! They love what they do and love to make conversation while providing you with great service! We had such a good time getting to know the staff over the course of our week long stay! They remember who you are, what you like, and what you plan to do!
The restaurant options are amazing! The buffet has everything from fresh seafood to pasta to fresh desserts to different themes for every day of the week! The French restaurant is very elegant and served very good food! The steakhouse served one of the best steaks that we have ever eaten! The Italian restaurant was amazing for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! We at about half our breakfasts there! The beach restaurant was great with amazing fresh seafood options! Our FAVORITE was the Japanese Hibachi restaurant! The cooks are great and love to show off and have fun with you while cooking on the grill!
A big plus for going here on our honeymoon was the benefits that come along with your normal amenities! The best one is the dinner on the beach! The food and champagne was amazing with a great view while enjoying a celebration of our marriage!
Overall, the value and quality of the entire resort was excellent, DEFINITELY spend the little bit of extra money to go for the Elegance Club!!! Also pay for the private transfer from the airport - no stops at other hotels and a quick drive! DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THE POSTS THAT ARE "BAD" POSTS!!! We walked past and talked with other people who were staying at other resorts who were all jealous of the quality of the Majestic Elegance!!!
We will be coming back and we will be recommending this resort to anyone who wants to go to the Caribbean for an all inclusive option!!!

Honeymoon Heaven
My husband and I honeymooned here and it was absolutely amazing! The weather was perfect and we were treated like the only newlyweds there. The room was gorgeous, as was the entire resort. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean and fresh. There is a variety of restaurants: japanese steakhouse (hibachi & sushi), italian, french, seafood, buffet, steakhouse, and room service. Reservations are needed for the japanese steakhouse and the french restaurant so be sure to get up bright and early and be the first in line otherwise you could find yourself eating dinner at 10:30 pm. Our favorite places were the regular steakhouse and the buffet because there was always something to eat. There is nightly entertainment you can enjoy with a cold cocktail. We stayed in the elegance club (adults only) and it was very relaxing and quiet. The nice thing about the entire resort is that if you desire privacy and quiet with your honey the resort offers plenty of pool and beach area for that. But if you want to socialize with others, primarily couples, the pool and beach areas cater to that, as well.
Overall, this resort is a couple's paradise! It's not a place for a family vacation, but that doesn't mean kids aren't welcome. It's not a young person's party scene, but you can dance, drink, and be entertained at any hour. We will definitely return!

All inclusive, one hotel room, two different departure cities7 answers
Hi,
How do I book online a all inclusive package for 2, however, the 2 individuals are traveling from different cities (ie. Boston and Las Vegas). We only want one room, but both would like all food and drinks included.

g
We offer customized airfare from many different airlines and even though you're traveling from mutliple departure cities, we are more than happy to help!
To customize your airfare for each passenger (1 from BOSTON and 1 from LAS VEGAS), you can call one of our sales reps at 1-800-915-2322 and they will be more than happy to price it out for you. Thanks!
GetawayGuru
You can book a room for two. You can split the costs in two if you want to and even charge on 2 credit cards. The only difference is the air from different towns. So you can order it separetly or call the customer service and they will help you with that.

Call and speak to a operator @ cheap carribean rather than doing it online, im sure that will solve your issue.
jimmyrugz
You may have to call by phone. We had 8 people in our group, booking 4 rooms, but all coming from a total of 3 different cities. All people are included in the package no matter how we set up the rooms. Reservations are made and paid for per person, but they will book the air travel to accommodate the different individuals embarkation cities.
Reg2ski
Call the Cheap Caribbean travel agent - just have the flight information you want on hand and they can definitely help. They were incredibly helpful with booking when the flight I wanted online wouldn't come up.
allinclusivevaca
Call the Cheap Caribbean phone number and talk to an agent, they have bee most helpful for me.
DebH
I traveled with my daughters, both over 24, both living in two different cities, sharing the same room. They arrive at the hotel, meet there and check in together, although they will need to use one of their names on the contract as the responsible person. Had no problems with the different cities, the transportation company that Cheap Caribbean selected, got them there and got them both back to the airport, although their travel times were different there was no problem.

There are a number of resorts in Punta Cana which do allow 5 guests in one room. Here are just a few to give you an idea -
NH Real Arena Punta Cana - Family Room
Melia Caribe Tropical - Family Junior Suite
Dreams Punta Cana - Preferred Club Deluxe Family Room
Barcelo Bavaro Family Deluxe - Family Room Deluxe.
Keep in mind that, depending on the ages of your children, there may still be some restrictions on the maximum occupency allowance, however this should give you a place to start!

How much additional money do you NEED to bring?11 answers
My husband and I would love an all inclusive vacation, but wonder how much more money do you need to bring (other than sovieners)? I have read about tipping, but what about additional costs after you get there?
3 years, 44 months ago
Ann
If you want to do excursions (snorkeling) for example, they are usually between 50-100 dollars per person. Other than that you don't need much. We took 700 for our honeymoon...went snorkeling, bought souvenirs for us and family, lost 60 at casino, tipped some people and had like 300 left.
Mechanicsburg
I have actually been to Majestic Elegance. The only additional money you would need is for any excursions you would like to partake in outside of the resort, professional photos, and souvenirs. Tipping is optional but recommended for better service. If you have airport shuttle costs included in your fee, then you truly do not have any additional costs after you arrive.
NettraF
You will want to make sure to bring money for tipping, any possible arrival or departure taxes, transportation costs, or incidentals (which is usually placed on a credit card).
DanielleCC
I took $200 in $1's, $100 in $5's and didn't use it all. I also had about $500 that we went thru in 5 days. On what, heck if I can remember but it seems we blew about $250 in the casino :-(
Hope this helps....
TxCouple
Not much at all unless you plan on doing excursions which run from $65-$100 and souveiners which are pretty cheap if you go to the flea markets instead of the resort.
nn3777
We did not have any additional expenses other than tipping the bartenders 1 or 2 dollars, tipping our butler $20 and the maid $10. This was our 1st all inclusive and it was great.
JerMar
The only thing we needed extra money for besides souveniers was we did go to the spa, went parasailing and purchased the pictures of our family with the show girls and the birds. You need to bring lots of ones and fives as they go along way when you tip any staff at the Majestic Elegance. Well worth a few dollars to ensure exceptional service.
GrillGuy
The only additional money we spent was on tipping and the excursions. Before we left the states I exchanged a 100.00 bill for a bunch of 5's and 1's so I could have tip money. We used cash for the fishing trip and the dune buggie trip. I had to buy a couple of band aids from one of the shops at .50 each.
FYI...Bring a large thermal mug with a lid. You can have the bartender fill it with your drink of choice. Nice to have around the pool or beach instead of those little plastic cups.
MartiniLover
Might need money for airport parking, shuttle tiping, food in airport or on plane, or bring snack like trail mix. Be sure round trip transport between airport and resort is included, a tip for that maybe, at resort nothing is required, small tips if you feel, some places say not to as it can cause a tiff between workers. Will need money for any taxi, local bus, or excursions. We have gone with spending as little as 20-30 dollars.
DebH
We brought about 100 cash for tips. as far as excursions we booked ours through Cheap Caribean before we left.
DonnaandGary
You donot need any money at all once you are there. All tips are included. Unless you want to do motorized sports, you are good to go.

We just came back from Almond Morgan Bay in St. Lucia, great kid's area and general areas, saw several young families enjoying, a single parent could manage real well and feel safe. Impressed to see security keeping an eye on resort boundaries.
DebH
The Majestic Colonial is next to the Majestic Excellence. We walked the resort and all seemed to be having a blast. We have stayed at the Melia Carbe Tropical in the past. This was very kid friendly. Both resorts we stayed at in Punta Cana have great security. The locals realize the value and benefit to their economy and treat you as welcomed guests or like family. You will feel very safe and there really is no reason to leave the resort. Food is great and each night they have various entertainment options. I would not hesitate to book a trip to Punta Cana.
RobnMaria
Aruba would be very safe. I would not do this in Domincan republic. I have been to Cancun & Cozumel & felt very safe despite what you hear on the news. I went to Punta Cana & just the ride from the airport to the resort was enough for me to say I was not leaving the resort.

I don't believe any of them are non-smoking. I am very sensitive to cigarette smoke wasn't bothered at all by smoke. Everything is so open you don't really notice it. Our room had an ashtray but you couldn't detect any smoke odor at all.

The beach is great. Beautiful sand, clear water.
TnTpatriot
This beach was great for swimming and snorkeling, did not see much snorkeling because there was not reefs close.

The Beach was absolutly amazing. White Sand and Very clear Blue water. The snokeling was fun that was offered for free at the resort. You could really see everything! They have some more escursions available at the resort that you can pay for and they will take you further offshore to do (Which is Highly Recommended!)
Hope This Helps!

terriffic clean and a nice sandy bottom no rocks or coral on beach

Beach is excellent for wading but you are not allowed to go past the boundary line. Snorkelers took boats to separate areas away from the resort.

It's a very small roped off area. Not much ocean swimming or snorkeling
MustangJoe
It's world class!

Swimming is wonderfull nice fun size waves soft sand under your feet. The swimming area does not go very far out maybe 100 feet or so. and it is about 5 feet deep in this area. Snorkeling here would not be good...
Jimtuck
The beach sand is very clean and swimming is wonderful, they fly a colored flag notifying you of swimming conditions, although there is no designated lifeguard, but the area is roped off and I went to the limit and I am 6' tall and the water height was at my shoulder. Water can be dangerous, so always swim with a friend or nearby other swimmers.

What is the best hotel for snorkeling right offshore of the hotel?6 answers
3 years, 42 months ago
Ken
Any hotel near Bavaro beach will be where the best snorkeling is. Most resorts have vendors that offer trips for snorkeling experiences.
DanielleCC
We have not been everywhere, some of our best shore snorkeling was Cancun, Cozemel, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman. We have a friend that returns to Belize every year. Good Luck
DebH
This hotel offered snorkeling but there was very little to see right at the hotel. We took a half day excusion which cost $129 per person and the snorkeling was very good and it also included a massage, swimming with rays and sharks and other activities. The Olympus Tours rep will have all the details.
MustangJoe
Not this hotel. They will take you snorkeling (about a 30min boat ride away), but the reef that they take you to is mostly dead. Still some beautiful fish, but the coral itself is bleached and lifeless
ArCapper
I don't know of any. Each hotel's site will tell you there is but there really is not. You can book a trip through the hotel or its cheaper off the beach. I brought a mask last year and was able to swim out to a very small reef but was able to get my fill of sea life. They have moved the rope in closer to shore so goings snorkeling is only over sand. Kind of a bummer as my wife does not snorkel or swim so it left me no where to go. Out side the rope would be too dangerous with the tour boats going by.
RobnMaria
The reefs are right in front of the majestic colonial

how is the scuba diving6 answers
3 years, 42 months ago
Deb
Hi Deb,
The scuba diving is great in Punta Cana because of the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. There are many dive shops in the area that can assist you in setting up dives. If the resort does not have a dive shop on the premises, they can direct you to one closeby.
ccsusan1
Just ok, it was our first time. Not a lot of coral reefs close, or just not taken to a good one, could have been clearer water and more of more colorful fish. Other beaches of Dominican Republic might have better, I did not research it.
DebH
We didn't scuba dive, we did snuba and it was great! The coral is a bit bland and you see the same fish over and over, but it's clear water and pretty nice. We were able to snorkel in the roped off swimming area off the beach.
AimeeR3
Lesson in main pool after you watch an informative video in your own room at your convenience. My first time scuba diving and the guide goes with you and keeps an eye on you and your equipment gauges regulating air during your dive. My first dive went 22 feet and was approx. a 45 min dive. Great experience
Palko
I was told by a diver who has gone to the DR 16 times the scuba diving is the best in La Romana and he had difficulty with the master diver at the Majestic. He felt like he knew more than the master diver.
Willabbe
We did not do any diving but those we talked to said the trip they took was great.

Is room service free? Can you get bottles of wine from room service free since 24hr all inclusive.8 answers
Traveling in early March. Anyone have suggestions if not included?
3 years, 38 months ago

Yes, if you book the All Inclusive Elegance Club. To get bottles of wine or champange all you have to do is ask your consierge to send them up to your room.
IvyM
Upon calling the resort, they advised that ordering bottles of wine from room service is additional in price.
MariaCC
room service is free, 6am- midnite and 24hours for Elegance Club, not sure on wine, we didn't ask, but wishing now that we did!!
ShelleyBell
room service is NOT free! I forgot to put that in my review. .I expected it to be! I did not use it so I dont know if you can get bottles of wine! I doubt it from the customer service I experienced!
landf
24 hr room service is included IF you're in the Elegance Club rooms. As for wine requests, all I know is they included a bottle of champagne free when they made up our in-room bubble/jacuzzi bath one evening. As for the "house" wines in the resutaurants on site, the red was horrible, the rose OK. And, as in most "all-inclusive" resorts in this area, tips are still much appreciated.
LoveTheWater
Yes it is! not sure about wine but i dont see why not the house wine is actually not bad...
funn
Can only speak for the Elegance Club section but the room service is free and quite speedy. Menus are limited but there's a set of shelves accessible from the outside so you can put your dishes in the outdoor-accessible "closet" when you're done and have them picked up without anyone coming into the room. Kinda neat but don't put your belongings on those shelves or they may walk too! Not sure about the wine in general because we only used room service for breakfast, but the junior suites in the club section come with a mid-size bottle of champagne (something between a split and a full bottle), a split of French Vodka, a small bottle of Johnny Walker Red Scotch, a split of rather brtual local rum, and a bottle of some sort of Bailey's equivalent. They get replaced as needed but you may have to ask to get them replaced. The frig is stocked with beer, water and soft drinks and is serviced daily.
PelicanSmash
Yes, the resort is all-inclusive, so you can order whatever you want to your room, I am sure, that if you talk to your room service wait staff and tip them, they will leave the bottle, although, as anywhere they are concerned of people over drinking their limits, if they feel that one bottle is more than you can consume safely, that is another question.

I don't think so. I believe you need to purchase the elegance club package in order to get premium alcohol but from what I heard people said it wash't worth it. Most people drank the popular drinks included with the basic package. Look for Ismael at the pool bar he makes great dirty monkeys!

The only alcohol you get in a basic room is a bottle of Champagne and Beer. It's an all-inclusive resort so you can get as much alcohol as you want. Bring your own cup and they will put any drink you want in it. I took a 32 oz cup for my drinks ;-)

How much do you tip a butler at an all-inclusive resort?6 answers
2 years, 35 months ago
Newark,New Jersey
Tipping varies on butler services at this resort. Please tip according to the service provided.
ChristinaCC
We tipped him $10 when he dropped us off at our room on the first day. You really don't see him that much, so tip whatever you feel like.
Beachlover31
I tipped $10 on day 1 for hooking us up at the Japanese rest. immediately and then $10 more on the last day...
Crgr25
I just read a report from Fromers regarding such and it does say the 15-20% is the norm however in some places where tipping is not the nor that you shouldn't buck the system so to speak because then it causes greater expectation from future clients.
DCBlogbandit
We just got back from our stay at the Majestic Elegance and We tipped the butler and the people delivering our luggage $5-10 upon arrival and then once when we left. I was under the impression that the butler was going to be with us all day, everyday but that is not the case. He helps you get settled and shows you around on the first day, then calls everyday or so to see if there is something that you need, or something that he can do for you. Not really there all the time, which I kind of liked. Hope this helps!
dixie1083
DO NOT tip unless you know you will be using their service. They are often impossible to find and I personally never really found them to be needed. The staff in the lounge are very accommodating and do not require tip. If you feel the need to tip the butler I would give less than 10 to start bc they definitely expect it and if you are happy with them and want to thank them at the end of you're stay give more. We gave him $20 the first day thinking we might get something extra service wise and never saw the guy again. Our butler sent a note the last night thanking us for staying at the resort and let us know when he was available that night I'm assuming was really a way to get more tip from us. Save your tips for the bartender and maid.

Is there damage from the fire still? (May 2012)7 answers
I heard there was a fire very recently. Have they rebuilt yet?

The resort is actively repairing the damage caused by the recent fire and expects most repairs to be completed by May 8. Until then, all gusts at the Majjestic Colonial have full access to the amenities at the majestic Elegance.
ccsusan1
I did not notice any fire damage , the resort is beautiful. I visited 5/2/2012
Sunnydays2
That was next door at the Colonial. They are rebuilding up close to the beach, frame only so far. All seemed normal over there though, lots of people on the move...Must have been only a small portion of the resort.
Crgr25
I just got back May 19th and I didn't see anything with fire damage, didn't even know about a fire. They are building a new building near the water on the colonial side... maybe that was a building that burnt down or something.

The Elegance Club pricing is subject to change. I suggest calling one of our experienced agents to price a package out for to get accurate pricing for your dates of travel.
ccsusan1
It is around $75 a person. Well worth it too!
saramarie005
We just came back 10/5/2012 and the cost was $138.00/night.
DCBlogbandit
At my recent visit to this resort (10/30/12), I was told it is $70 per day per person.
Kinamack
It was roughly $100 per person. This includes room service, a butler, a private lounge, and restaurants that are strictly for club members.

My wife & I upgraded on or 5 night stay & it cost us $114.00, Well worth it though.

What are the pool hours @ majestic elegance? And can you use the spa facilities such as the sauna without a spa service if staying in excellence club?6 answers
2 years, 33 months ago
Insidemouse
Pool services for all/most resorts close around 6-7pm. All spa facilities are an addtional cost, including the sauna.
DanielleCC
Pool only stays open till 7pm I think. And I think you have to be using the spa services to use the sauna, but the rooms have jacuzzi's in them and the pools in the excellence club have areas with hot tub like jets etc.
KikiM

JWCheat
Pools close at dark.
Not sure about the spa
barbandken
The pools close at sunset with no night swimming. I believe you have to purchase a spa service in order to use the sauna.
Dsloan61
The pools and pool bars all closed at 6pm. The spa facilites are not included in the all-inclusive. We looked into the spa, its very expensive compared to the same service in the states.

You will need to speak with the resort directly about setting up Wedding packages. They contact information is listed below

Phone: +809 221 98 98 ext 11019 o ext 1039
Fax: +809 468 4995

The Majestic Elegance does offer handicap accessible rooms and elvators. However, for wedding planning and coordination, you will need to contact the resort directly. We do not offer any wedding services at Cheap Caribbean. The wedding coordinator will also be able to answer any specific questions that you have about wheelchair accesibilty and location of your event.
MariaCC
I would ask the resort specifically, but I know while we were there I saw two people in wheelchairs and they were able to get around. Elevators in the hotel and main lobby and to the beach there is a ramp downward. I don't know if that helps
KikiM
We saw a couple of weddings there and they were a little bit of a distance and a wheel chair might be an issue in the silky soft sand. But I bet they would try and accommodate.
GaGirl12
In the time I was there I saw a couple of people in wheel chair and they were accomodated just fine...they will take a good care of you from the plane to anything you need to do there like activity wise.. and I saw 2 older couple on wheel chair that went on the boat and they had no hard time and enjoyed as much as everyone else

Do you provide access to Majestic Colonial for the casino? Is there a free shuttle?8 answers
2 years, 31 months ago
andy
Guests of the Majestic Elegance have access to the casino as well. There is no shuttle as both resorts are located right next to each other on the same property and it is a short walk from one to the other.
KristinCC
These resorts a right beside each other so you dont need to worry about a shuttle it is within walking distance. We were there 2 years ago and the Elegance did not have a casino so we could use the Colonial casino. I am not sure if that is still the case today.
Costello
Theyre on the same complex. No shuttle needed.
JWCheat
Don't count on the casino being all that...no need for shuttle its walking distance. One small, hot room for the casino.
GaGirl12
The casino is between the two resorts.....it is a short walk. the resorts are side by side
NEMIDY
There is access by walkway and its not far at all. No shuttles.

Is the beach on the Atlantic or Carribbean side?9 answers

Majestic Elegance sits on Bavaro Beach in which is on the Caribbean side of the Dominican Republic.

Atlantic but near Caribbean

Atlantic
GaGirl12
Atlantic so it's a bit chilly and in the fall like during the first part of October it's very choppy.

It's exactly on the Atlantic side but close enough to the Caribbean that the reef blocks waves so the water is calmer than true ocean.

Caribbean side.

I don’t see an option when building my package for the Elegance Club upgrade; how can I get price details on and book this upgrade?6 answers
2 years, 30 months ago
rachieme
When pricing out a vacation package on our web site, you will be given the option to choose your room category. At this point you can choose a room category that includes the Elegance Club package. If you need additional assistance, please feel free to call into our reservation center and an agent would be more than happy to assist you.
KristinCC
I beleive with this resort it in the room type you choose, you will have to look at the different room types. We were there and loved it but the Elegance Club is two seperate buildings so you have to reserve those room types specifically.
Costello
It should be an option under room selection if you scroll down. There will first be listed the regular rooms, non club and then club rooms. It's in the title description of the rooms
NalaGirl
I think you have to call them directly and the cost when we went 9/29-10/5 was $138.00 per night. Good luck.
DCBlogbandit
call the cheapcaribbean hotline and they'll answer it for you. They're very helpful.
coachtalltom
Look at your room options. There should be a couple that give "Elegance Club" upgrades. Butler, Special pools, bars, etc. Hope this helps.

Are you allowed to use the facilities at the Majestic Colonial?? Go to the shows there??5 answers
I was just wondering if the Majestic Colonial next door is open for the guest of the Majestic Elegance to use?? Can we go to the shows at that facility??
2 years, 27 months ago
MULLIE
Guests at the Majestic Elegance do have accesss to the facilities at the Majestic Colonial.
KateHCC
Yes you can go to the colonial. The casino and shows there re accessible. Shows are kind of mediocre and are later at night though, 10 p.m.
Angel8675
Yes, you can go to the shows at the Majestic Colonial and you can go to the Casino, walk the grounds, shop at their shops. However, you cannot eat at the restaurants or get served at the different bars. This was not explained to us when we visited and we sat at the piano bar at the Colonial and were told they could not serve us because we had the Majestic Elegance bracelet.
We did, however, get served one night at the main lobby bar of the Majestic Colonial, so I guess it depends on how specific the bartender on duty wishes to be. But the rule is that you cannot drink or eat on the Majestic colonial side if you are at the Majestic Elegance side.
Eleanor
We just stayed at the elegance club. We did see 2 shows at the colonial however those shows are at the majestic elegance only on a different night! We had a drink in their lobby and went in their stores. The only thing I know of you can't do is eat in their restaurants!
Merlee
We did more than once & even ordered drinks without issue. But you cannot dine at the other resort.

This hotel includes unlimited food and drinks, but some dining restrictions may apply. Please check with the front desk for details.
Reservations must be made through Guest

You can have as many as you like! There is actually nothing from stopping you have two dinners if you really wanted to. You're only restricted by times; lunch 12-3 and dinner 6-10 (if I remember correctly)
AJNY
You can have a formal dinner every night if you prefer. The French restaurant and the Japanese restaurant require reservations, and they have to be made same day. The employees are not joking when hey tell you to make that call early. If you want a normal dinner time (6-8) you have to call by 9 am! The steakhouse and Italian restaurant both offer good food and wait staff.
Angel8675
Hi Ken:
Just returned from the Majestic Elegance and it was great. There is no limit on what you eat, how many times, etc. It is ALL inclusive - eat and drink to your heart's content!

Breakfast and Lunch are buffet but you can choose from the many restaurants for dinner as often as you want. There is only one dinner buffet, the rest of the restaurants are sit down.

I don't think there is a charge, but I would not advise renting a car here! Very little traffic regulation, poor roads, very high gas prices.

Mistake not purchasing the Elegance package?7 answers
Just booked my trip, however, didn't need the butler service or private pool so I did not get the Elegance package. After reading reviews it seems that those who opted out are simply ignored by staff and the service is sup-par.
Any truth to this or am I over reacting? Anyone purchase a regular package that can shine some light? Thanks!
2 years, 26 months ago
Pennsylvania
Your requests will not be ignored at the resort, however, if you are looking for exceptional service and attention while on vacation, then we recommend upgrading your reservation to include this. It is true that upgrading to a resorts VIP package is going to grant you more privileges, although, it is up to you to decide whether or not it is right for your vacation.
LaurenCC
No worries, I think the Butler and private pool is overrated. It is, however, much quieter on the "Elegance" side of the resort and you are closer to the beach.
No matter what, I think you will enjoy it very much. We only saw our butler the day we arrived and gave him specific instructions on dinner reservations, and then we did not see him again or had any special requests to give him during our 7-day stay.
Enjoy!!
Eleanor
get the ellegance club....

we just got back and did not upgrade to the club. we didn't feel like we missed out on anything and had a great time; didn't feel like we missed out on anything.
Idgie
We just got back from Majestic Elegance and had no problems with the service. We also did not book the Elegance Package as we did not think it was worth the difference in price. All the activities were at the regular pool and many of the Elegance members were opting to use that pool instead of their private one.
OneLadyVa
I just returned from Majestic Elegance and did not purchase the elegance club. Trust me, there were no issues with service at all. Everyone was attentive and super friendly, regardless of what language you speak.
AnaRN
We just went on our trip to the Majestic Elegance. After speaking to some couples that purchased or were upgraded I didn't see a huge difference. They were able to have breakfast and lunch in an air conditioned restaurant while we did not have air conditioning. The butler for them was slow and not accommodating. Their private beach was roped off but right next to our beach. They had waitress service at their lounge chairs we just walked up to the bar. The service isn't terrific no matter which package you buy. It helps a little if you know Spanish. I would say 1/3 of the staff was good the other 2/3 lazy and rude.
Anonymous
We debated this also but did upgrade. I thought it was worth it. The elegance club did not have any children, had very comfortable seating. You could go anywhere on the property. The elegance club has more dining & bar options & they gave us 4 bottles of liquor with the upgrade. The pool / beach section without the upgrade is where all the action & events. All of the club members rooms are closer to the beach. It really depends on what you want but either way the place is amazing every inch of the property & you can upgrade before your arrival if you still want to & they have rooms available.

Yes, it is a standard outlet in the Dominican Republic. The only issue you may run into, is if you need a 3 prong plug, you may need to bring an adapter for this.

no adapter necessary; the outlets looked different so we asked and they said they were fine for US plugs and they worked no problem

We used Olympus Tours listed by cheap carribean. We arrived at the airport after a LONG 12 hours of traveling and they were easily identifed and we were taken to a van right away, but then we got switched around to 2 other vans at the airport before we left. However the driver was super friendly and funny. Once we were put in the right van it went super smooth. The turnaround time for laundry was 24 hours as long as you provided the articles before 12 noon. The cost varied but if I remember correctly, it was an average of $2.00 per piece.

It was by the piece. I had them was some shorts & some T-shirts. The shorts cost $4.00 ea & the t-shirts were $3.00 ea. That was for regular laundry. I was more if you wanted it pressed etc. pants & dresses were slightly higher but right in the same price range. I put it in a bag with the order form, called the number & they picked it up & I had it back the next day. Same day service cost more but I had mine back within 24 hours.

can you please clarify water sports? what type of water sports do you have at Majestic Eleg? do you have jet skis and do you have land sports like ATV6 answers

The water sports included with the All-Inclusive Plan for this resort include: snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing, and catamarans. Please note these amenities are subject to change at any time at the resort's discretion. Jet Ski rental is available for an additional charge at the resort's watersports center. ATV excursions are available nearby as well for an additional charge.
BILLCC
I did not see jet skis at the resort but included with the resort was kayaking, snorkeling and small sail boats...all non-motorized sports. There were plenty of tour representatives in the lobby that were offering the ATV tours for an additional cost.

They had snorkeling, wind surfing, & sailing included. I think you can do pretty much anything else for a charge. They have the best guy working at the Cheap Carribean desk named Salvatore that can hook you up with anything you could want to do.

In the all inclusive you get kayaks and the sail for couples or 4 people..and they don't have jetskies cuz of some people got drunk and kill themselves on the machines..
So yhey don't allow it no more but definetly they have boogies and atvs also side by side and a lot more activities like jeep safari..and I did a lot of them and I had more options to chose its fun and I'm plannin to go again to majestic elegance....its great place to go its beautiful and so worth it not expensive..

They don't have water sports specifically at the Majestic. They did however have scuba lessons. I'm pretty sure those were for people that paid to go to the reef off the resort. There are however close by places as you walk on the beach if you are facing the ocean to your left that have kayaks, banana boat, jet skis etc. I did not see any ATVs. My suggestion is when you get there they give you a card of a time to meet your cheap Caribbean representative the next morning, go to it, and she will tell you all the fun activities you can pick. We chose the VIP snorkeling package which was fun but there are plenty other options!

BEER = PRESIDENTE ONLY
SOME Premium spirits, but they are only available for 6 hours a day in the main hotel lobby bars.
XavierdaIslandHopper
The main beer was Presidente. They put bottles & cans in your room. I asked a bartender if he had Dos Equis beer & he asked what that was. The seem to have any liquor you want & some bars can make different drinks that other can't. The only Frozen drinks were the Majestics & pina coladas but most could make mudslides etc. You wont have a problem getting alcohol & they are not afraid to make it strong!

The water is not filtered so it is strongly recommended keeping a bottle of filtered water in your bathroom to brush your teeth.

We had no issues with the water while brushing teeth. We were able to get bottled water at all meals and on the beach, which we did as a precaution.

We brushed our teeth and rinced with the water - 3 couples and not one of us had any issues or became sick. The drinking water is filtered and bottled..., again had no issues all week.

I would not use the tap water even to brush my teeth. They'll tell you that you can - don't take the chance. They provide bottled water everywhere. You won't have a problem getting enough water there.

Hi Granny,
They say it is but all six people in our party were sick. You can request bottled water and I highly suggest it. Remember to be cautious with the lettuce, frozen drinks and ice as well. You might want to stock up on medication just in case. Their version of Imodium cost $1 a pill in the Pharmacy and $2 a pill in the souvenir shop. Good Luck and I hope you enjoy your vacation. The beach is beautiful!

what are the "rooftop" bars like? Dancing? Open late? Is the casino nice?

Because hours can change and the entertainment/activities also change, I don't know what the roof top bars will have for hours or entertainment when you arrive. You can use the resorts "contact us" tab to find out that information at: https://www.majestic-resorts.com/en/contacto.html
Thank you.

We just got back on Sunday (June 16th) and never saw any rooftop bars. Maybe we missed them. The casino is tiny & very smoky.
whynow
No night life. The only thing thats opened late is the disco, which is small, stinky, and hot. Smoking allowed. and the casino, which again, smoking is aloud, very small, terrible!
yjornik
the rooftop was empty the entire time we were there. We are 28 year olds so we were ready to party it up as well and there was a lack of nightlife with exception to the casino, game room and nightclub. However, I wouldnt recommend the casino to anyone there bc they were snakey and dishonest. They tried to keep peoples chips and didnt cash in correct amounts, laughed about it when people called them on it.
LoveLife
Casino is small and I played slots two nights in a row and lost. Not worth doing. I was not aware of any open roof top bars at my stay. There is a disco club. This is fun if they play dance music. The first night we went the music was good the second night it was a lot of latin salsa and the workers took over the dance floor. I was very annoyed by that. I wanted to dance but felt like they were taking over!
crazysunshine1
they had a rooftop bar??? LOL
XavierdaIslandHopper
We were very excited that our room was right near the rooftop bar overlooking the beach. It is an amazing view with the best breezes on the property & comfortable seating, but to our disappointment in the week we stayed there it was never once open as a bar day or night. we got drinks & sat up there but the actual bar never had a bartender. They did have a night club that opened at 11pm between the 2 resorts & that place was jumping! the casino was open very late also. After 11pm I saw more people walking around than in the daytime.

The VIP adult only section you are referring to is called the Elegance Club Adults Only section. There are 5 different room types offered by CheapCaribbean.com in this section of the resort.

Both Majestic Colonial and Majestic Elegance have their own adult only areas. The Colonial Club and the Elegance Club. In the Majestic Coloial we noted there were more families. In the Majestic Elegance, the club members had their own pools and bars and beach areas.

We were just at the Majestic Elegance 8/23/13 and we were in the adult only section. Don't know about the Colonial having an adults only club/section. I really enjoyed that feature and it did not cost much more to be in the " elegance club"
crazysunshine1
Majestic Elegance Club is the VIP, adult only section. That applies to Elegance Club rooms, pools, poolside bars only. Otherwise, kids run rampant!
XavierdaIslandHopper
I stayed at the elegance & they had their own section. Also more than one of the "VIP" rooms that have the computers, Drinks & staff to make reservations etc.

It seems some of the Colonial amenities are available to Elegance guests. Is that correct? If so, what? And is it reciprocal? Thanks!

According to the resort's website, there are a few facilities that are shared by guests of both resorts. The casino, an after hours snack bar, a sports bar, the kids club, and a Catholic Church are all available to guests of either resort. Please be advised that amenities are subject to change at any time at the resort's discretion. This information can be found on the resort's website here: https://www.majestic-resorts.com/en/majestic-elegance-punta-cana-punta-cana/resort-services-%20.html

I believe all the colonial amenities are available to the elegance guests but not vice versa. I saw colonial guests asked to leave some of the elegance club areas.

We stayed in the Elegance and were told that we were not allowed to eat at the Colonial. However, you could go over to there main area and what not. As well as go to their club pool and club computer room.
LoveLife
Yes, right now during construction we had free range to the property. You had to make reservations at the restaurants. The properties are mere images of each other. The Elegance property focuses more on adults. We walked over to the Colonial side but never used it because we had everything we needed there. The only thing they had was the seafood and everyone said it was not good and the fish we had from the Jack Sparrows meal was not good either.
Caudles
Both resorts reside on the same property. You can use both facilities. Colonial had more families. Elegance Club is adults only and premium liquor.

Everything is available but some bartenders may give you some grief on the other side. Didn't try their restaurants though.

WHat is the fitness facility like?6 answers
What is the fitness facility like? What does it include? Where is it located? What hours is it open?

According to the resort's website, the fitness facility " has modern cardiovascular equipment and weights, three plasma TV’s, lockers, towels, music and air conditioning. The fitness center is supervised by qualified employees. Children under 16 are not permitted. Children of 17 and 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult."

Hi Chicago,
The fitness facility is basic with cardiovascular and weight training machines. It's off the lobby in Plaza del Toro near the El Asadito restaurant. It's open 7:00 am until 7:00 pm. They have some Yoga ( an am class) , Pilates(3 pm) etc, classes. Hope this helps!
Anonymous
Fitness room is nice and well equipped (but it smelled so bad every day!). it is located on the east side of the resort near the lobby.
XavierdaIslandHopper
Not the best I've seen offered at a hotel, but not the worst either. They are open from 7AM until 8PM. There are 3 treadmills (only 2 are currently operating) and one of them should have the belt replaced as it is very worn. There are a couple of elliptical machines and some bikes typically used in spinning classes. They have a nautilus machine as well as some stand alone machines, free weights and some exercise balls.

I would suggest the elegance we just returned and it was beautiful. I would do the upgrade and you recieve a butler and cabanas on the beach. The disco/dance club, casino, all the bars are available to both resorts since they are connected. If you upgrade at the elegance you have a private pool and its kid free. If you dont upgrade there are kids in both colonial and elegance pools. If you also upgrade at elegance you can have first choice on meal reservations at the japanese and french resturants. Hope this helps.

Is there a Golf course6 answers
1 year, 18 months ago
Columbus
Golf
Adults get 1 complimentary green fee per 5-night stay at Punta Blanca Golf Course, just five minutes from the hotel entrance. Adults in the Elegance Club get 2 complimentary green fees per 5-night stay.
Offering 18 holes, the course was designed by the world-famous Nick Price. All players will be challenged at this course; each hole has a unique style from its undulating fairways, bunkers and lakes presenting a new adventure with each game. Take advantage of the full-service clubhouse and enjoy spectacular views while relaxing after your game.
AlixCC
There is a beautiful golf course through another resort that you can golf at for "free" they say, however we golfed 9 holes and it costed us 160 dollars it was 40 to rent the cart for 9 holes and 40 for each to rent clubs, then you had to purchase golf balls and drinks were not included. I purchased 2 beers and my husband a mixed drink and it was 18 dollars. So free... not really, and they don't tell you this information until you are already on the course.

There are adult-only sections at each resort that children/minors would not be permitted in. Other than that, you would have no issues.

Yes, there is no problem with moving between the two sections of resort. It is listed as two separate resorts (Colonial and Elegance) but in reality it is one enclosed compound and all the dining and entertainment options are are open to all, at all times.

Yes but not for dining. The resorts are actually connected with shops & the casino in the center. I am not sure about the specific "club VIP" areas since we stayed at our own.

Upon reviewing the description of the Colonial Junior Suite (Outdoor Jacuzzi), it does appear that there is an additional charge for high speed internet access in that room category.

It's only free wifi for the elagance club members, be sure to upgrade to this room to receive free wifi, swim-up bars, bar service on the beach, canopy beds, a butler.

The two buildings closest to the beach and farthest from the main lobby and most of the restaurants. There is a seafood restaurant close to the rooms that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the club lounges offering food from 7:30 am til approx 6 pm. it is a private beach, but vendors are allowed to walk the coast. you can call them up or go down to them, otherwise the security sends them away. if you are on the shore, just don't make eye contact and they wont bother you
foxytraveler
Vendors are allowed but must all work for the same company as they all wear the same shirt. They stroll the beach but do not harass the tourists. If you catch eye contact with them, they will start to approach, but if you shake your head "no", they promptly go on their way. There are security guards on the beach that strictly enforce this as well.

Majestic Elegance club vs Majestic Colonial Club member benefits - adult only3 answers
Are they the same? If you stay at the majestic elegance and decide to become an elegance club member, do you have the same benefits as a colonial club member staying at the majestic colonial? colonial and elegance are different resorts, they each have their own pool and lounge sections. If you have any further questions or concerns, please call us at 1.800.915.2322.

The local beer is Presidente. At one bar we got Tecate, but they don't have it at every bar. Just ask them what's available. Try the paradisio tropical and the piña colata, I usually don't drink sweet drinks but they use their local rum and they didn't seem overly sweet for some reason. They are strong however!!!
Gayla2
It's all inclusive - so all drinks are free. Beer, wine, juice, mixed drinks, frozen drinks. All included.
TwinMomDC
Not sure on beer. Only drinks I saw a charge for were better bottles of wine. I never saw a charge for beer or liquor, even the premium ones.

What is the best way to make reservations for the restaurants that require them?6 answers
8 months ago
United States
Resorts do not typically allow for reservations for restaurants to be made more than a week in advance. We suggest contacting the resort a day before travel if you are eager to do so, or simply making your reservations upon check-in.
If you have any further questions, please call us at 1.800.915.2322.
SamCC
I really hate resorts that require reservations but the best way is to call reservations the minute you wake up in your room. Or if you're near the main desk go make the reservations in person.
Jissel
You can do this with your butler when you first get there and he shows you around.
Gayla2
If you are in the Elegence Club section, just pop by one of the lounges - they are always staffed and they can make them for you. But only 2 of the restaraunts require reservations, the others are just pop in.

Not exactly. The Brugal rum is great. Ask for the Extra Viejo. Besides rum though, the selection is limited. For vodka, the had a brand is never heard of but a few bars did carry Stoli. As for the rest it was brands I've never heard of.
Amlevin3
yes!
joyceh
Yes, if you visit the main lobby bar they carry top shelf liquors.
SDMD
It's a mix and limited. And if you want a beer you're only getting "El Presidente"
Midget11
Some of the better liquors available were stoli, absolut, jack daniels, ketel one, johnny walker black, all good gins, etc. Best tequila was cuervo gold and silver. Much better options than I was expecting

Does the adult-only section have their own priivate resturants and pool areas? Otherwise, are you ever exposed to children in common areas? It is not a true adult-only resort?

Staying in one of this resort's available adult's only rooms puts you in a secluded section of the resort away from kids. It does not prevent you from encountering children if you were to explore more of the property, however. For further information, please call one of our Beach Experts at 1.800.915.2322.
SamCC
no private restaurant but they have their own private dining area in some of the restaurant and yes they have their own private pool and swim up bars
joyceh
The Adult- Only section does have private pools. When I went I NEVER saw kids... they are on a complete different side of the property and even have their own entrance. I also believe their dining options are on a different part of the resort as I do not remember seeing kids AT ALL!
Mallory
There are adult only pool areas, restaurants are open to everyone. The adult area is only for adults you will not have any kids in the two pools that are dedicated for adults only. This is not an adult only resort, there are children.
DaleCityVa
Yes. There is 1 restaurant that is only open to the Elegance Club members for Breakfast and Lunch. Also, there is a different restaurant which only allows people ages 12 and over for dinner. This is clearly marked on the information we received upon check in.
There is actually only 1 pool that is open to children. All the rest of the pools are adults only. There is also an adults only section of the beach.
Copper7
We talked to a couple staying on the adults only side and also did a walk through. They do have thier own pools and spa area and also their own beach. But their part of the beach is right next to the other part so I don't see how you could avoid the kids. We were there 6 days and saw very few children even though we didn't choose adults only.

We just returned yesterday and they have activities for every day of the week. It seems Sunday is a travel day and slower but there are still plenty of things to do. The day after you arrive the Cheap Caribbean staff meet with you (we were Leary of this) and give great advice for the "do's" and ""don'ts" of DR. It was very helpful!! She goes over all the activities as well. What to book in advance, etc We were there with several couples ranging in ages from 24-56 and a good time was had by all.

Anything we should know for a honeymoon?2 answers
Any important details? Must do excursions? Best restaurants? Helpful info?
Indianapolis
We suggest you bring a copy of your marriage license. Majority of resorts offer additional perks to honeymooners, and they do require proof. Also, make sure you add a request advising the resort that this is your honeymoon.
CaitlinCC
If you let the staff know in advance, they will make your room and/or your restaurant experience to be quite special. Just let them know, and they will bend over backwards to serve you!
A great excursion would be the Outback Safari tour to the coffee, cocoa, and tobacco producers. Another excursion we did that was great was the Reef Explorer where we swam with stingrays, nurse sharks, snorkled, and got a nice massage (they have 11 different activities) while on site for about 4 hours -- safe and fun! . Of course there is also zip lines if you are so inclined on another excursion.
Further, in the opinion of all of our party (eight in our group), the best restaurant on the site was the steakhouse! We found out too late that you have access to the restaurants and shows on the Colonial side of the property, and there is supposed to be a good Mexican restaurant on the Colonial side. Happy Honeymoon!!

Hotel Description
Majestic Elegance: Soak up All-Inclusive Luxury for Couples and
Families
When you need a breath of fresh air, pack your bags for Majestic Elegance Punta
Cana where the crystal-clear water and the balmy air of Bavaro Beach are
perfect for anyone looking for a little "breathing room." The all-suite resort
unfolds with lush, beautiful landscaping and is home to an ultra-exclusive
upgrade: Majestic Elegance Club which puts adults in top-of-the-line rooms with
the best views and service fit for royalty.
The turquoise water of Bavaro Beach looks fabulous from under a palapa, and
you'll look great lounging in a gorgeous Bali bed by the enormous, winding main
pool and holding a mai tai from the swim-up bar. Though the kids get free run
of the amazing 300-m, lagoon-style main pool, adults get to kick back in the
solitude of two pools of their very own. Your cup won't run dry thanks to 11
bars, and your tummy shouldn't be empty, thanks to delicious dining options:
diver scallops at the beachfront See & Sea are a hit, and a choice cut at
Asadito Steak House tastes fantastic. After dinner, head to the Piano Bar for
an evening of live music, take in a dance show at the theater or check out the
casino at Majestic Colonial.
Majestic Elegance gives you Punta Cana any way you want it: windsurf,
snorkel or kayak, then head inside and give the impressive gym a once over, and
if you're feeling a little competitive, join a tennis tournament. Does your
serve still need a little work? No worries! Play in a ping-pong tournament!
After you've had your fun, a massage in the tranquil spa loosens up muscles and
gets you ready for bed.
As the day winds down, there's nothing like swimming up to your suite and
snoozing on the gorgeous Bali bed or hopping right in the jetted tub, so an
Elegance Club Swim Up Suite, for adult-only, is a must. If you're traveling
with the family, the One Bedroom Suite is spacious enough for everyone, and you
still get an amazing in-room jetted tub!
