The resort was just like advertised. Its not a 5 star hotel but it serves
the purpose if you just use the room to sleep and freshen up. Very clean and hotel staff very helpful. Edna our daily maid was just wonderful. Our room was spotless. Free breakfast will fill you up past lunchtime. Fresh fruit and make-your-own waffles was a big hit with us. Restaurant across the street very nice. Mexican restaurant in walking distance also very good. Patio bar and dive shop by pool a plus. No problem getting a bus to anywhere. Just start walking and they beep at you to see if you need a ride. $2.50 per person American currency one way. Go to Georgetown to watch sunset. Cruise ships are usually gone by 4pm . Everything closes by 6pm. Margaritaville stays open later. We rented snorkel gear from dive shop for the day at a reasonable price. Snorkeling was excellent right at the beach hotel . We could go out pretty far and the water about chest high. Good variety of fish and coral. I suggest aqua shoes if you have them. Our overall stay at Comfort Suites is: A+++
I recommend staying here for value, convenience to surroundings and pleasure.

very nice, great value, great location!
We found this resort to be above average & enjoyed our stay immensley. Their service was good, wonderful continental breakfast ea. morning, beach (not right on the beach, but a very short walk), was beautiful, great snorkeling right there. There was also an on-site dive center, Ambassador Divers, that we went out w/several times. They were fantastic & gave such personable attention to their customers! Room was a little bit smaller than what we're used to, but then we don't sit in our room, we were out enjoying the beautiful island every day! It did have everything we needed, even came equipped w/a small "kitchenette". The grounds were beautiful, as well.
Highly recommend if you're not spoilt to extreme luxury & you just want a very nice place to stay along with a good deal, in comparison to other places!

Great Value on Seven Mile Beach
We stayed at the Comfort Suites for 5 nights April 19, 2011. It was a great value! This property had more than I would expect from a Comfort Suites brand. They had a dive shop, on site spa, and poolside restaurant and bar. It is a very short (30 second) walk to the beach along a path and the hotel provides beach chairs and beach towel. They have the usual free breakfast which includes hard boiled eggs and make it yourself waffles in addition to the usual continental breakfast. The snorkeling right out front of the beach is very good. I taught my daughters to snorkel here and we saw much sea life including stingrays right under us.
It is very nice to have a full kitchen to prepare snacks and meals. We did eat out a lot but nice to have a night in. I will say the restaurant food is average and met expectations but there are many other great choices as well within walking distance. The only reason I marked anything down from a 5 level is that I am used to luxury resorts i.e. Four Seasons, Ritz, etc. and the service cannot be compared but for this price point, it exceeded expectations.
I would definitely stay here again next time I visit the island.
Grand Cayman is very beautiful. We visited twice before for a cruise. It is one of the few Carribean islands that you can feel safe anytime any where.Things are a bit pricey plus the US dollar is only worth .80. You definitely need to rent a car for a few days to see the sites. We did the dolphin discovery swin. You can get a buy one get one if you go for the 3:00 appointment (with coupon). Check ahead of time to see the cruise ship schedule to plan your trips into George Town. Note that the ships pull out at 4:00 most days but most of the shops close at 5:00. Now to the Comfort Suites. This the most friendly staff that we have ever encountered. The free breakfast isn't the grand buffet but it helps the pocket. Cereals, eggs, breads, yogart, fresh waffles, milk, juice & coffee. Certainly enough to get your day started. Most places including the Marriot have a buffet for $19 CI. The Stingers Bar by the pool has good food at a good price with daily drink specials. Coconut Joes across the street is much better though. We had a one bedroom suite which was very nice. It had a strange AC that was very loud. The resort is behind a condo so you don't face the water but you will save $500-$600 for the week vs the Marriot next door. It is only a short walk to the beach (120'). The pool is very nice. The only issue we encountered that was agrevating was on Sunday afternoon when Stingers rented the pool to about 50-60 screaming kids and their parents for a 3 hour party. Apparently they manage the pool area. The front desk said they couldn't control that. All & all though I highly recommend this facility.

How far of a walk is the beach from the hotel?11 answers
2 years, 35 months ago
The beach is only a short walk from the main area of the resort. exactly how far depends on which beach you are walking to, as there are a few within walking distance.
It is around 100 yards down a sandy path to the beach from the back door of the hotel.
Less than 200 feet.
less than 2 minutes. walk out the hotel, pass the swimming pool, walk down a path and you are at the beach. It is really the Marriott's beach but no one will kick you off the beach so enjoy it!
About 50 yards from the front door.
About a block but it is from the hotel pool down a path. Only part of the path is paved so not wheelchair friendly
The hotel does not sit directly on the beach. There is a short walk, about 125 feet down the access path by the hotel pool to get to the beach.
Less than 100 yards!
It's one minute away or less, it's right behind the hotel
About 1 minute
A path leads you to the beach - about the distance of 1/4 city block long
How close to shopping, restaurants, etc is this hotel?7 answers
Would you need to rent a car?
2 years, 33 months ago
This resort is just mintues (driving time) from Georgetown's downtown duty-free shopping. You may rent a car or speak with the resort about getting a taxie or transfer service.
Shopping is down town. Aprox 2-3 miles from hotel. busses run constantly until about 9pm. round trip cost is 5 dollars U.S. No rental car needed since busses can get you almost everywhere
Very close. No you will not need a car. They have $2 van shuttles that travel constantly.
shopping is very close to this hotel. i walked to 4 shopping areas, all within 10 to 15 minutes. Camana Bay Mall is very expensive so shop in the strip malls to save money.
Renting a car is fun and easy. Driving on the left? Challenging but you can do it if observant! Shopping all along Seven Mile Beach. Little bus/vans come by often they will honk, you tell the driver where you want to go and he will let you off. $2-3 pp
No, don't rent a car you can ride the bus for 2.50 US dollars everywhere you wanna go, it's way cheaper
There are restaurants across the street and in both directions from the hotel. There are numerous shopping areas within a mile of the hotel.
Comfort suites, grand cayman. About how much are meals at the popular restarants there?8 answers
Also is December a good month weatherwize to travel to the cayman islands?
2 years, 31 months ago
Food and beverage pricing at the restaurants can greatly vary depending on what is ordered. Also, December in the Cayman Islands averages a high of 83 and a low of 75.
wonderfully good-- we had sun 99% of the time.
Meals are expensive, expecially with the dollar exchange. Anytime of year is great to travel to Cayman Islands. The first week of January was mid to high 80s.
Don't know about December, we went in June and it was wonderful. It cost us about about $25.00 (US) for the two of us to eat meals. We did not go to expensive restaurants. We also used coupons which Comfort Suites gave to us upon arriving.
Restaurants are pricey. $50 + without wine pp. However there are fast food options, cook in options and also a pretty reasonable restaurant on site. But it is poolside so casual. There are a few chains Wendy's, Pizza Hut, Hard Rock and Burger King, Subway
Meals are pretty expensive but it all depended where y'all want to go eat, weather in dec it's in the mid 80s
Food is more expensive in the Caymans than in the US. At the tourist, modest restaurants, about $15 per person.
I can't speak for December travel but the restaurants vary like in the states. They have some where the entire meal for two cost less than 30 CI and some where meals can cost you 30-40 CI each. Remember that as an Island, everything is shipped in to them.
Does Comfort Suites provide beach chairs for its guests?10 answers
1 year, 21 months ago
Yes. Complimentary beach chairs, loungers and umbrellas are available.
yes---they are already on the beach & free to use
They do, however I have been there when you had to drag your own out to the beach and then this month the chairs and umbrellas were already set up daily. There aren't many but you can safely put your towel on them early and they will still be there when you come out to enjoy the sun.
Yes, there are about 2 dozen beach chairs for Comfort Suites Hotel guests.
Yes first come first serve and you are ver much on top of each other sometimes better to bring a beach blanket and go down where less crowded
Yes they do, they are available at 7:30 am they even have an attendant out there all day to help you accommodate your chairs, wonderful service
Yes, but the number are limited, so you need to reserve early. There is no charge. Also they provide beach towels
yes they have lounge chairs with umbrellas available and staff to set them up- no charge
Yes, there are beach chairs - but they are on a first-come, first-get'em basis. No worries, though, there are plenty of chairs (or at least there were when we were there).
Yes and umbrellas at no charge.
How far is Comfort Suites to The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort?6 answers
I need to know if it's walking distance or not?
1 year, 19 months ago
According to our website, 7 Mile Beach itself is only 50 yards from the resort, how far that is from the Westin would be a good question to ask the resort directly. You can reach them at their "contact us" link at
Long walk, but for about $2 you can catch the little vans that travel the road toward West End. Just ask the driver to let you off at the Westin
Yes we walked there everyday
It's about 1/2 mile walking distance
i'm not sure of exact distance (I'm sure you can find that on Google Maps) but it's a pretty decent walk. One can certainly do it (presuming they are in fair condition), but you'd be better off renting a car or taking the bus.
We took the bus up to the public beach and walked all the way back to the hotel, stopping to swim along the way, take photos, and check out other resorts. The Westin is relatively close to the public beach, but about 2-3 miles from the Comfort Suites. It's an enjoyable, scenic walk along the beach, or about a 10 minute bus or cab ride.

The breakfast was bagels, etc, eggs with meat choice, make your own waffles, hot and cold cereal, yogurt, tea, coffee, juice, fruit.
Yes, it is a continental breakfast - eggs, and either bacon or sausage (meat changes daily); belgian-style waffles (you make your own); cereals (fruit loops, raisin bran, and corn flakes when we were there); variety of yogurts, fruits (bananas/apples); breads for toasting; milk, juice & coffee. That pretty much sums it up. You can definitely get your fill. Oh, and I think they will make you a cooked-to-order omlet if you ask.
